Great – you are trying to decide on a good defense round………
What other choices do you have?? Are you are willing to spend $180 for a box of 50 Glaser Safety Slugs – if so – then you need the Glaser Safety Slugs because they are much better than the Hornady Critical Defense or the Federal Personal Defense. Of course, you would need to pony up $1500 for about half a case since you need to proof and check your pistol for proper operation with these Glasers.
If you can’t afford the Glasers – then you get stuck with Hornady.
And if these Hornady are all you can afford – why bother asking this question?
Defiantly…so is DRT, and TAP, and starfire, and …………hey, whatever is in your gun when you need it is the perfect round. Thousands have perished with just your runn-o-the mill ball ammo.
Yes this is excellent personal and home defense ammunition for your handgun, it is some of the best stuff that exists.
